Dear Future Champion,
My name is Lloyd Irvin and I’d like to thank you for visiting my website. I’m glad you came, because I’m on an unstoppable mission to help as many people in Maryland, DC and Virginia experience the benefits of our programs.
I’m passionate when it comes to Mixed Martial Arts, I opened the very first Mixed Martial Arts School in the Washington DC area back in 1996, I also stepped into the ring to fight in my very first MMA event in 1996, back when it wasn’t cool and so popular. That was over ten years ago, now it seems unqualified Mixed Martial Arts Schools are popping up everywhere, most with instructors that have never fought mma and never will fight mma. Most have some grappling with no striking skills or vice versa. Many of these schools are misleading students with false claims, I personally hate seeing students that truly have great potential get trapped into a situation where they have no chance to grow to the absolute highest level possible.
That’s why I’m offering you a FREE 30-Day Trial Program so you can see for yourself what we’re all about. You’ll get a Free Tour, a Free Consultation (to make sure we can serve your needs), a Free T-shirt, and you’ll get to try our classes for a Full 30 days FREE… Plus other Free Valuable Gifts (like MMA gloves, uniforms, t-shirts, books, etc.) are available just for giving my program a try. I’m even so confident in my program here that I’m willing to give you my “Iron-Clad 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee” just so you can rest assured you’re in the right place.
I know that may seem crazy (and believe me, I’ve had many who’ve told me they think it’s positively insane), but I don’t care. The “naysayers” told me I was crazy when I said I would get my BJJ Black Belt in less than 4 years… they laughed when my one of my students, Mike Fowler, also said he would get his black belt in 4 years… but their laughter turned to amazement when I earned my black belt in only 3 ½ years, then after that my student Mike earned his black belt in only 4 years and shortly after became a BJJ/GJJ Black Belt National Champion and going on to defeat 3 Gracie family members (including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA Legend Renzo Gracie) as well as 6-time BJJ/GJJ World Champion and 2-Time Abu Dhabi World Champion Saulo Ribeiro at the Abu Dhabi World Submission Grappling Championships just this past year.
People told Rhadi Ferguson he was a “madman” when he made his run at the 2004 Olympics… they told him there was no way he could win a national title and be among the best in the world at Judo… but after he won the US National Judo Championships to earn his spot on the US Olympic Team and represented the United States as a Judo Olympian, he proved that if you train like a madman, surround yourself with positive people who believe in you, and you follow a proven system, only great things will happen to you.
Top UFC fighter Brandon “The Truth” Vera plugged himself into my system and is now experiencing success at the highest level as a heavyweight MMA fighter (who could easily drop down to light-heavyweight) in what is now the world’s largest professional Mixed Martial Arts fighting organization, The Ultimate Fighting Championship or “UFC”. I remember when Brandon first set foot in my school. He told me, “I want to fight in the UFC.” I told him, “Let’s do it. No more talk – let’s just get started with the plan and follow things through to completion.” We put together an action plan, set goals, and next thing you know, Brandon’s now fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship “UFC” and training hard to become the next UFC Heavyweight Champion. And I have no doubt in my mind he’ll do it – he’ll earn his UFC championship belt.
Brandon Vera is driven, focused, and he won’t stop until he gets what he wants… and those are the qualities that make a champion. It’s “The Will To Win.” That’s why, when Brandon travels all the way from California and flies over 2,300 MMA schools so he can train HERE to prepare for his fights, the entire team gets so excited because they see the potential of what they can do if they just apply themselves and focus on action.
We’ve got a lot of great success stories to share with you… just come to my school, talk to the students and see for yourself… we’ve got champions of ALL KINDS. World champions, national champions, MMA title holders, even Olympians like Rhadi… along with our “everyday” champions, the ones who may not have desires to compete, but come to class, work hard, train, follow my proven method for success and achieve their personal goals. They are the ones – people just like YOU – who help make Lloyd Irvin’s Mixed Martial Arts & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy the #1 school in the Washington Metropolitan area.
I get excited when I’m teaching classes and I see new white belts with desire, see people in class doing, not just talking… and every time I look out onto my floor and see those students, I can’t help but think how some of them could become the next “4-year BJJ/GJJ Black Belt” or the next “UFC Fighter” or the next “World Champion.” It’s happened before and it will continue to happen because of the system I’ve meticulously created, one that enables ANYBODY… and when I say “anybody” I mean A-N-Y-B-O-D-Y to have tremendous success, get in the best shape ever, look good, feel even better and have the peace of mind knowing they’re a part of the best program available for learning life-saving fighting and self-defense skills… not to mention have a whole lot of FUN in the process.
I’m telling you this not to impress you, but to impress upon you the power of setting goals, having the courage to work as hard as you can to achieve them, and following through… because often times, that’s where the real value lies – in the journey toward your goals. You can see the potential, can’t you?Wouldn’t you agree that if you have goals, no matter what they are, it makes sense to join a team where both the students and the coaches are achieving success at the highest levels? I hope you can see the potential, because, as the saying goes, “If you shoot for the moon, you’re bound to land among the stars.”
That’s why it’s both my honor and my duty to let as many people know about my program as possible. It’s my passion. I absolutely love my school, and I love teaching classes, training on the mats, in the cage and in the ring with my students, and seeing them grow into great fighters and even better people. I want the best for my school and I want the best for my athletes, and I’m willing to invest whatever I can to make sure EVERYONE who comes into my academy, no matter what their specific personal goals are, will have a life-changing experience and come away with something valuable each and every time they come train. I like knowing that my students belong to the best team in the DC Metro area… and that’s why I’m happy you’re reading this, because hopefully, I’ll be working with YOU very soon.
You see, I’m a very competitive person. When I set my goal of having the #1 school in the Washington Metropolitan area, I would not stop until I got there – and now that we’re the #1 school and team, I plan to work my hardest to keep us at the TOP.
I realize there are a lot of programs out there, a lot of schools, and a lot of people who want to train at the BEST school. And I know that many of our “competitors” are facing the same challenges today that our competitive athletes are (also the people who are risking their lives to help others, like law enforcement and military, even people in security or simply those who just want to feel secure knowing they can defend themselves and their loved ones if something bad would happen). I’m aware of the challenges. Isn’t it interesting that when so many different schools are “fighting” the same forces, some academies do better job of meeting those challenges than others?
My entire objective with my school has been to provide my students with a method for gaining a competitive edge – both on the mats and off the mats (yes, these skills carry over into life as well – that’s why so many people, even ones who don’t want to compete, take advantage of this program). And gaining edges – large or small – is how we’ve made ours one of those few programs that is doing a better job than the rest in providing that for their athletes.
But don’t take my word for it. One of the reasons I offer my 30-Day Free Trial Program is so you can come and see for yourself, talk with our staff, meet our students, participate in our classes… this way, you’ll be able to make a well-informed decision and see if everything makes sense for you.
I encourage you to sign up to my email list for more free information and to call the school RIGHT NOW to set up a free tour and consultation so we can get your started with your free 30 days of classes. The phone number to the academy is 301-449-KICK (5425) so don’t hesitate; call right away because spots fill quickly.
I hope to see you soon, and I look forward to working with you!

"Team Lloyd Irvin by far has the best MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai team in the Maryland, Washington DC, & Virginia Area hands down. We are recognized as having one of the best teams in the Country. Our team has competitors fighting all over the country and a few of our team members are starting to compete in other countries. I may be bias being a member of Team Lloyd Irvin myself but our results speak for themselves. Try to find a school in our area that has produced more MMA Champions then us. It won’t happen. Take it from me; if you want to be the best you can be, you have to train with the best. PERIOD! Do yourself a favor and check our team out."
"I moved to Maryland from Indiana this summer with the impression that my training was going to suffer. Facing the possibility of being away from my team and instructor (James Clingerman) for the summer was bad enough--the fact that I had a scheduled MMA fight waiting for me back home with the possibility of training myself for it was tantamount to disaster. When James recommended that I look into Lloyd Irvin's jiu-jitsu program, I was expecting a group of people to roll with once or twice a week to keep me fresh...still dreading that the majority of my training would alone. What I got, however, was a blessing....a full gym, consistent training partners (some of whom were females with high rank, which is an AWESOME and rare commodity most places), and daily classes with an emphasis on both fundamental and advanced training. When I mentioned to Master Lloyd that I was training for a fight, he designed a personalized conditioning program for me, which has left me in the best shape of my life.
I have found that in training he continually pushes his students to improve their game, both in examining the group as a whole and pinpointing the exact areas that each individual student needs to improve. The support I have received at LIMMA has helped improve not only my jiu-jitsu and NHB technique, but my overall sense of self on the mat...my weaknesses and strengths (physical AND mental) are pointed out to me daily and corrected with patience and understanding. What's more, there has ALWAYS been someone of high rank or experience available to answer any question I might have at any given time. I can't say enough about how grateful I am to have met and trained with such an extraordinary man and group of people. "

"When I first started all I wanted to do was fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championships. I found Lloyd Irvin’s Martial Arts and was hooked. They didn’t just talk about it they did it. I never forget being invited to a special training session for the pros and I couldn’t believe my eyes how hard they were training. Lucky for me I didn’t actually participate in that type of training for a while but I knew this was the place for me. Then I saw a video of Master Lloyd fighting. I never wanted to train under someone that wasn’t willing to put it on the line themselves, it’s real easy taking instruction from someone that you know has been through what they are telling you to do. Master Lloyd does everything in his power to make sure we have the most up to date training methods available. Our conditioning routines are incredible and that is the main reason you don’t see our pro athletes getting tired in fights. If you’re looking for NHB training it just doesn’t get any better than this. Anyone can do our training the way our classes are structured; we have different levels of intensity for the beginner and the more advance student. Come and give it a try.."
"I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu five years ago after a friend convinced me that I should try it. I was weighting about 250 pounds and was drinking too much. But shortly after starting BJJ, I broke my neck in a car accident and was told I would never be able to do BJJ again. Defying the odds, I was back on the mats, within four months after the accident. I used BJJ to get my weight down to 178 pounds and to rehab my neck. Now at 52, I am in the best condition of my life since I was 21. Without a doubt BJJ saved my life!
